Project Introduction

The Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals (ASMTP), also known as the "Professionals Scheme", aims to attract high-calibre talents from different industries and professional fields to work in Hong Kong, so as to meet the needs of the HKSAR for talents and enhance the competitiveness of the HKSAR in the international market.

The professionals must possess special skills, knowledge or experience that are needed but not readily available in Hong Kong to contribute to the day-to-day operation of Hong Kong enterprises and related industries in order to support the high value-added and diversified development of the Hong Kong economy.

On 16 May 2023, the Hong Kong Government announced the expansion of the Talent List to cover 51 professional trades in nine industry sectors, including business support; creative industries, arts and culture, performing arts; development and construction; environmental technology services; financial services; medical services; innovation and technology; legal and dispute resolution services; and maritime services. The policy objective is to enrich Hong Kong's talent pool to meet the needs of socio-economic development. The expanded list will help us to attract more high-calibre talent to support the quality development of Hong Kong's economy and society.
